Is 3DoF or 6DoF screen anchoring processed 100% on the internal hardware when connected to a locked PC without admin/install rights?

Yes. 3DoF and 6DoF anchoring run on-chip. Direct mode needs no driver, no install, and no admin rights, so a locked corporate machine sees a standard external display and all spatial behaviour is handled by the glasses. The Connect App is only needed for features beyond that, such as the media player, and multiwindow.

@walterko3900

Without any software installed, what exact resolution and aspect ratio (e.g., 32:9 Ultrawide) does Windows see in Plug-and-Play mode?

In Plug-and-Play (direct mode) no driver or software install is required. Windows sees a standard DisplayPort monitor over USB-C DP Alt Mode. Maximum is 2560x1440 @ 90Hz, which is 16:9, not 32:9 ultrawide.

@walterko3900

How do magnetic prescription inserts attach to the Pancake lenses, and do they reduce the 90° FOV or eye relief for glasses wearers?

For prescription lens, you can refer to the first update we share on Kickstarter: this Kickstarter update. HonsVR is our official prescription lens provider, backers order directly from the HonsVR site; ordering opens around mid-October 2026.

@walterko3900

What is the actual perceived brightness (nits to eye) through the Pancake optics, and is there electrochromic dimming for bright rooms?

120 nits to eye. There is no electrochromic dimming on URXR One. We have this video on URXR One in a bright outdoor setting: https://youtu.be/DEn8yaO4ViM

@walterko3900

How many Watts does URXR One draw from the host, and can it accept external PD power simultaneously via standard USB-C splitter hubs?

Power draw: it depends on mode. In full 6DoF the glasses pull over 8W from the port; lighter modes draw less. That's why features scale with what your source can supply: a 15W USB-C source (most laptop TB/USB4 ports) gets everything — 6DoF and 1440p@90; a ~7.5W port (typical handhelds) runs Direct Mode in 3DoF; phone ports (~4.5W) can't drive the glasses alone. External power: yes — that's exactly what the included Power Hub is: PD pass-through that powers the glasses while passing the DisplayPort signal, which is how phones get the full experience. Third-party hubs can work in principle if they do proper PD pass-through plus full DP Alt Mode passthrough — but be careful with anything sold as a simple "splitter": cheap ones that just split the power pins without a real PD controller won't negotiate correctly. We haven't certified specific third-party models yet, so I can't vouch for any by name — the safe answers today are the Power Hub or a known-good full-featured dock.

@walterko3900

Will you partner with European optical labs (like VR Optiker) for custom prescription inserts with cylinder/astigmatism correction?

HonsVR is our launch partner.

@matthewcullen3486

3840x1080 >1080p resolution sbs, this is much lower than the full resolution of the panel . can you explain why you chose not to take advantage of the full panel resolution capability?

Link bandwidth. URXR One runs DisplayPort over 2 lanes — the other two pairs carry USB 3 for the software mode, all on one cable. Full-native SBS (4896×2064@90) would need ~27Gbps of video; 2-lane DP tops out around half that even at its fastest. The $1M stretch goal adds native SBS in Direct Mode via OTA, with the 3840x1080 to 1920x1080 conversion handled on-chip rather than by the host.

@evgeniuxp2evgeniuxp234

Are the screens stationary, or are they also moving to the side?

In 3DoF the screen stays anchored relative to your head. In 6DoF it stays anchored in the room.

@BrianVicary-f1x

Probably a bit of a niche question, but will they have a mode where a 3D input can be viewed in 2D, showing left (or right) in both lenses?

Not a niche ask as far as I'm concerned. there are good reasons to want one eye's view on both lenses. But no, it's not planned. We've got a list of features we've already promised and our job right now is making those work properly before adding anything new. I'd rather tell you no than add it to a pile of maybes. Noted for after launch.

@srfeger

How big of an issue will these glasses have for someone with an IPD of 70? The max is listed as 68, correct?

Our stated 58 to 68mm is the distance between optical axes, centred on 63mm. Experience will differ person to person. For reference we have creators at up to 72mm using it, and Edward is 72mm.

@kosovaR7

when you guys will be shipping to countries not listed ??

We are actively working on expanding to more regions. Updates via Kickstarter, email and Discord once more regions are added.

@tingoyeh4903

can it support SBS mode?

At launch SBS is available in Connect App media player. An OTA is planned after launch to enable SBS in direct mode.

@niravjoshi008

Would it support 2d to 3d via inair pod or through the companion app?

Not with inair pod for now, but built-in SBS via the companion app and direct mode.

@shortcake_braclets

With the app that you are developing for iPhone, will it allow an iPhone to have similar functionality to the inair pod?

Yes. Our Connect App will have similar features like inair pod but optimized for phone experience.

@Glynn101

is the hand tracking fully functional

Hand tracking is functional and iterating weekly.

@srfeger

What is the power draw from these glasses? For example, if I were to use this with a Steam Deck OLED or a ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X, I expect that the draw would be too much for the device.

The glasses only draw what the port offers — features scale to match, so there's no risk of overloading anything. 6DoF pulls over 8W and needs a 15W port; below that you get 3DoF. Your two examples land differently. The Xbox Ally X has a USB4 port, which is required to supply 15W — full experience right off the port. The Steam Deck is rated ~7.5W, good for 3DoF, but its delivery can sag under load — the glasses handle that safely and reconnect, but for a Deck I'd honestly recommend the Power Hub. Takes the glasses off the Deck's battery too. Worst case anywhere is a lower feature tier or a reconnect, never damage.

@shortcake_braclets

When connected to a laptop, will we have full resolution of the glasses?

2560x1440 @ 90Hz maximum in direct mode, provided the input supplies 15W. Below 7.5W input, 1440p auto-disables and the glasses fall back to 1080p.

@CyberDelivery

Are you able to type with the hand tracking? Does like a little digital keyboard appear like with the meta quest?

Yes. There will be a virtual keyboard. But only in the format of Raycasting / Pinch Input

@SIGNALacquired

i'm interested in using the URXR ONE for gps navigation while on my road bicycle.

We do not recommend wearing the glasses on the road or while walking for safety purpose.

@SquirrelsLoveAcorns

so for things like a faulty ambient light sensor... will each unit that ships be tested so we don't have issues like that in the final production version?

Yes. Every unit goes through OQC before shipping. Full functional test, ambient light sensor included. Prototypes go through the same test. The difference is what happens when one fails: in development we still use the unit, because we don't have spares to throw away. Production is different. A unit that fails OQC doesn't ship.

@tingoyeh4903

can it support openXR for Windows? will you release the driver for that?

OpenXR is not yet available for devs at launch. Our App is built on OpenXR.

@teddyzhu

What's the refresh rate on Dex? What's the resolution?

DeX runs through bypass, so it uses the same EDID presets as the host.

@edewolf1827

Is there motion ghosting?

MicroOLED response time is fast enough that we do not see persistence-style ghosting in testing. If a specific content type shows it for you at a demo, tell us and we will look at it.

@Glynn101

is there any blurred image edges

No.

@srfeger

My concern is focused on software. When I look at companies like Viture or RayNeo or XReal, I've not found the software to be very mature. Will there be SDKs made available to developers?

SDK and third-party app support plans will be updated around November and December 2026 after we fulfill current shipment.

@shaungratton

can you bring the screen closer with 3dof?

Yes. In 3DoF the +/− buttons on the glasses cycle through four screen presets (S/M/L/XL) — each one adjusts the size and the perceived distance together, tuned so the depth cues stay in the comfortable zone. It's stepped rather than freely adjustable, by design: the size/distance pairs are chosen to keep vergence comfort in check. In 6DoF you can also physically walk toward the screen and it scales the way a real screen would.

@teddyzhu

Will the glasses switch back to 3DOF from 6DOF mode automatically when the room gets too dark? If so, how dark does the room need to get before it switches back to 3DOF? Ok but I assume that the 6DOF mode would not be working well when the room gets too dark, right?

Yes. In dark environment, 6DOF will fall back to 3DOF. Our test scenarios go down to around 5 lux. Worth knowing it's not purely about light level either. The cameras need visible texture, so a dim room with patterned furniture holds up better than a brighter room with blank white walls.

@CyberDelivery

Does the hand tracking allow you to interact with your screens? Like playing and pausing youtube videos? Or does the hand tracking just for moving around and resizing screens?

Yes. It will work just like a normal cursor.

@BrandiWestHamiga

is it possible to screenshot?

Yes with our Connect App.

@MrDocteurF

we are all talking about Samsung dex but other phone ( Huawei, honor, Xiaomi) can do similaire thing, right ?

Yes. As long as it supports DP alt mode and sufficient power supply.

@Br3tn777

Is there a way to record the glasses internally and have that displayed to that tv in the room?

If you refer to streaming feature like seeing what the glasses are seeing it real-time on a TV, it is currently not available.

@abeervaishnav7692

can we please have a test for some dark corner in the room?

Yes. Will add that with lux measures.
